Myakka river state park4/5/2023 The ranger said "No, 11 is the end, sorry", and then turned the iPod off. Can you give us literally 2 minute and 20 more seconds?" My husband said "We are dancing our last dance. About a minute into it the ranger marched up to us and said "It's 11, turn the music off". It was a soft piano song and the volume was at a level where we could talk to one another without raising our voices. But two days before the wedding, it was too late to change anything.Īt 10:55 the band played their last song, and then announced our last dance. If this would have been disclosed at the beginning I'd have started the ceremony an hour or two earlier. We had to adjust the whole timeline and rush the formal photos and skip cocktail hour to fit everything in. However, two days before our wedding, our planners were informed that after 11 it was to be quiet time, no live music or amplifiers. They said neither of these things were an issue. When I began my hunt for venues, I asked each place two questions: "Is there a time limit? I don't want to have to worry about being thrown out at 11pm", and second "Is there any reason we can't have loud live music? We are hiring a band and don't want any issues with noise complaints". My only complaint, and the only reason I didn't give 5 stars across the board, is what happened at the very end. The staff were friendly and they provided bathrooms and trash service as well as some cleanup. We rented the South Pavilion and the location was more than I'd hoped for. However, its true claim to fame is the Myakka canopy walkway, giving visitors the opportunity to hike among the tree tops. It’s known for its lakes, wetlands, and meandering waterways. I wanted an enchanted forest feel to our wedding of 90 guests and it was perfect.
